About
The Fay and Gus Jones House in Fayetteville, Arkansas, stands as a testament to Fay Jones’s architectural legacy and is now a recognized historic landmark. Its design naturally merges materials, light, and space in perfect harmony.
History of the House
Nestled in the heart of the Ozarks, the Fay and Gus Jones House is a living expression of Jones' architectural ideals. Designed in 1956 as his family home, it reflects his ability to merge structure with landscape. Visitors will encounter thoughtful craftsmanship, natural materials, and a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Following the deaths of Fay (2004) and Gus (2014), their daughters donated the house to the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design for preservation. A 2015 restoration, supported by the Arkansas Natural and Cultural Resources Council (ANCRC), the University of Arkansas, and private donors, ensured its legacy. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and documented in the Historic American Buildings Survey at the Library of Congress.
